SEE PROJECT: 1st International Project Multimedia Contest  with a aim of Project Documentation 

Life itself is a project that has started with a specific purpose and ends with a variety of controversy and has saturated with small and large projects. The "management" of the project has long been of human interest and concern. Today, given the importance and position of a wide range of projects in order to achieve "goals / goals", the question arises “How is possible to capture the hidden, unrepeatable and unique moments of projects to share experience and lesson learned?”

These concerns made us to define an international contest to "See Project“, capture lean moments and tell our stories.

Preface

Throughout history, the human being has used various tools and techniques to capture the moment or convey a message to communicate with each other; and, "illustration" would be one of those.  The combination of different content forms such as text, audio, images, animations, video, and interactive content, so-called “multi-media” meets these needs and expectations. The primary aim of illustration is "to generate expressive images that effectively convey specific information via the visual channel to the human observer.

More than ten years ago, the Iranian Project Management Association was founded and accepted as a member of IPMA.  It was established with the primary objective of upgrading the project management status in Iran, developing the project management knowledge and tailoring it to the national context, promoting project management in the technical and operational system of the country, raising the awareness of project management and developing related expertise qualitatively and quantitatively.

In early 2018, Iran PMA planned to implement first annual “Project Multi-Media Contest” with the motto of “SEE PROJECT” and proposed this innovative scheme to International Project Management Association (IPMA). This Contest is designed with the aim of challenging individuals and companies in 2 separated categories to observe projects and illustrate them by capturing the lean moments with the state-of-the-art multi-media tools.

Contest Objectives

This project has paramount importance at national (Iran PMA) and international levels (International PMA) regarding its nature, uniqueness, exclusivity, and potential achievements, and  is considered as an opportunity to achieve the following objectives:

• To strengthen the role of photography in the management of the project;
• To expand new tools and techniques in the compilation of managerial reports;
• To create vitality and enthusiasm in the project activities;
• To promote the quality of modern marketing in the promotion of project-products
• To raise integration and synergy between illustration (i.e. photography art) with the theoretical and practical areas of project management;
• To see projects |tell Stories| 3D Visualize| illustrate the experiences, moments, activities, lesson learned | and share hidden aspects of a project on static and dynamic frames;
• To capture lean moments and freeze time throughout the project life cycle and project completion;
• To encourage engaged parties to enrich the pictorial database before and after the project operation.
• To Develop Green Thinking, Sustainable Development, and Project Management by employing the arts of illustration and multi-media tools such as Photography, Film, and animation.
